WA HB1240

Press Release: WA HB1240 Signed

WA HB1240 does not directly impact Aero Precision’s ability to manufacture and distribute parts to our customers.

To Our Customers:

As many of you are aware, the State of Washington has adopted new legislation banning the sale and distribution of “assault weapons” in the State of Washington.  We do not agree with this new law, we do not think it is constitutional, and we think it is unclear in several important respects, especially with respect to how it applies to parts.  We have been working diligently with industry partners to oppose this legislation, and Aero Precision will be one of the lead plaintiffs in efforts to challenge it in the courts.

Nevertheless, considering the law as it currently stands and uncertainty about how the new rules will be applied and interpreted, we have made the difficult decision to suspend the sale of AR parts to customers in the State of Washington. This will not directly impact Aero Precision’s ability to continue to manufacture and distribute parts to customers outside of Washington. However, we are not complacent with this situation. This does not mean that we support this new law or that we believe the new law is clear about whether part sales in WA are prohibited by the new law, but while Aero Precision is a strong supporter of Second Amendment rights, it is also committed to operating lawfully and limiting risks to our business and the jobs of our employees.

We realize that this is disappointing news to our many customers who share our commitment to safe, responsible firearm ownership.  It is disappointing to all of us at Aero Precision as well.  We will continue our efforts to be a strong advocate for gun owner rights and to battle this legislation in the courts.

Thank you for your support,

Team Aero

There’s a saying. Buy what you build. So much for Aero precision employees not only being able to not buy the products they manufacture but not being able to buy american made products. If the legislation is not overturned in the courts, I sincerely hope Aero Precision considers moving their operations out of Washington. I will continue to buy your products while I can as I currently live in Michigan but I may have to move in the future myself as you are probably aware of what’s going on here too. We’re not to the point yet of what has occurred in Washington. They seem to be trying to take a moderate approach to gun control and I don’t think they would ban replacement parts as well, but you never know. I wouldn’t put it past them to take us in that direction and until the U.S Department of Justice starts criminally prosecuting State Legislators and State Attorney Generals who refuse to overturn these laws when the courts tell them they have too, this isn’t going to end. Of course, with this current Administration in the White House, that won’t happen.

Did it not state the manufacture of guns and parts?
I might have read it wrong.
This is a nasty Bill/Law that should be struck down.
As a resident of Washington, I definitely don’t agree with any of it and am irritated a responsible gun as myself, cannot purchase parts I may need for my AR rifle.
I’m with you on this fight.
    Let the party begin.

I’d recommend leaving Washington state like MagPul left deep blue, gun hating Colorado.
Don’t give them your business taxes, move to Idaho.

Thank you for sharing your commitment to the Second Amendment and customer rights. Washington State has truly gone to the dark side with our only hope that the higher courts can stop this unconstitutional madness! I fully support your business decision as for Washington sales and will look forward to purchasing your products in hopefully the saner future.

Close up shop in Washington and move to Utah. Home of John M. Browning and Browning Firearms. Other notable manufacturers include North American Arms, Christiansen Firearms. Desert Tech, Silencer Co., Cobra, Barnes Bullets and others. Utah has a highly educated and qualified workforce thanks to the University of Utah, Weber State, Utah Valley University fostering a robust engineering, defense and aerospace industry. The state is business friendly, with abundant housing and commercial manufacturing space available. Did i mention that Utah boasts five (5)National Parks!!!

Come to Utah or even our neighbor to the north. You can fight back with your tax dollars. I do understand the importance of fighting where you’re at as well. Thanks for taking this up.

I have lived in Washingto state. Back when they were passing the assisted suicide laws and partisipating glleefuly in the Row VS Wade, National permission to abort. How can they kill on demand and ever have any credibility. Abaolute pandering. No respect for life. I wonder if they can shoot during a home invasion. I also wonder just how many handguns are sold in the state. I guarantee they are talking out of both sides of there mouth. I think in this case ATF SBR applications will go out the roof. Just my 2Cents

I own several AR platforms, and recently I broke 2, an ar15 upper and a ar10 upper. Barrel nuts were torqued to tight. Plus the gas tube blew out and so did the Gas Block.

Guess what, no one is selling to WA residents the Uppers or Parts to repair them. If you guys are suing the State, USE THE REPAIR ISSUE AS , ” LOSS OF COMMERCIAL INCOME”  AND whatever else Legal Term they use for this, because when a AR15 or AR10 blows the Gas system or the Upper Receiver is Torqued to tight and the Barrel Pin, Cracks the   RECEIVER, we owners need to be able to repair these issues.
